Removal/Replacement and Adjustments

Upper Transport Cover Removal/Replacement
The Upper Transport Cover should be removed for clearing stoppages and during
machine maintenance.
Upper Transport Cover Removal
1.
IMPORTANT:
Turn the machine
OFF
before proceeding.
2. Press the
Upper Transport Cover Latch
to the left, grasp the right end of the
cover and lift upwards to remove. See images below.
Press Latch

3. Reverse this procedure to re-install the
Upper Transport Cover
.
The DL400 will not operate until the
Upper Transport Cover
is properly
installed.
The
Upper Transport Cover
must be removed in order to increase or
decrease the cut depth, see
Cutter Adjustment
across the page.
Cutter Adjustment
The Cutter on the DL400 can be adjusted to accomodate different mail types. Manual
adjustment allows for a deeper or shallower cut than adjustment via the
Cutter
Adjustment Lever
.
Adjusting the Cutter Depth
1. Remove the
Upper Transport Cover
(see previous section).

2. Reference the above image and make adjustments as required.
a. For a deeper cut press the release button and with a flat head
screwdriver turn the
Cutter Adjustment Cam
clockwise to increase
the cut.
b. For a shallow cut press the release button and with a flat head
screwdriver turn the
Cutter Adjustment Cam
anti-clockwise to
decrease the cut.
3. Replace the
Upper Transport Cover
.
