6. SERVICE MODE
6.1 DVD MECHANISM TEST MODE
6.2 HOW TO CONFIRM THE SOFTWARE VERSION
[Purpose of this mode]
This mode can be used for the quality judgement of the DVD mechanism.
On this mode, the product automatically checks following items, and it will show the results of measurements
on the display.

[Operation]
(1) Insert a DVD or CD into the product, and after starting playback,
press the [SVC] button of the service remote control, GGF1064.
(2) "TESTING" will blink on the display during the measurements for tens of seconds.
(Generally, for about 40 seconds)
(3) After finishing the measurements, "ER XX" will be displayed.
Here, "ER" means Error Rate, and "XX" is the result of the measurement (OK or NG).
(4) To change the display item, press [1] - [3] buttons of your desired one.
Display: ER OK or ER NG
Display: SK OK or SK NG
Display: RF OK or RF NG
(5) To return to the normal operation mode, press the [SVC] button.
If the [SVC] button does not work, turn off and on the product by pressing the [PWR] button.
<NOTE>
During this test mode, other buttons will not be effective.

Procedure
(1) Turn on the power of the product, and change the source to CD/DVD by pressing [SOURCE] button.
Do NOT insert any disc, and make sure the display is showing "NO DISC".
(2) Press and hold the volume knob, and turn off the power.
(3) Press and hold the volume knob for 5 seconds or more.
(4) Then, the main software version (M*******) will appear on the display.
(5) Press [BAND] button to change the display to the DVD software version (D*******).
(6) You can change the display of the software version by pressing [BAND] button.
