Switching the secondary
video
Use the pr ocedu r e below to switch the seconda r y video
(Pictu r e-in-Pictu r e) r eco r ded on the BD-ROM.

During playback, press 2nd VIDEO.
• The cu rr ent seconda r y video and total numbe r of
r eco r ded seconda r y video st r eams a r e dis p layed on
the TV sc r een.
To switch the seconda r y video, pr ess 2nd VIDEO
again.
• The seconda r y video can also be switched by
selecting Secondary Video f r om the FUNCTION
menu.
• If the seconda r y video is not switched when 2nd
VIDEO is pr essed, switch it f r om the disc menu
sc r een.
 Turning the Secondary Video off

Press 2nd VIDEO or select Secondary Video from
the FUNCTION menu to switch the setting to OFF.
Enjoying BONUSVIEW or
BD-LIVE
This p laye r is com p atible with BD-Video BONUSVIEW
and BD-LIVE.
When using BD-Video discs com p atible with
BONUSVIEW, you can enjoy such functions as seconda r y
video ( p ictu r e in p ictu r e) (above) and seconda r y audio
( p age 30). With BD-Video discs su pp o r ting BD-LIVE,
s p ecial video images and othe r data can be downloaded
f r om the Inte r net.
Data r eco r ded on BD video and downloaded f r om BD-
LIVE is sto r ed on the USB memo r y device (exte r nal
memo r y). To enjoy these functions, connect a USB
memo r y device (minimum 1 GB ca p acity, 2 GB o r g r eate r
r ecommended) su pp o r ting USB 2.0 High S p eed (480
Mbit/s) to the USB p o r t.
• When you inse r t o r r emove a USB memo r y device, be
su r e to tu r n the p laye r ’s p owe r off.
• To r ecall data sto r ed in the USB memo r y device, fi r st
inse r t the disc media that was being used at the time
the data was downloaded (if a diffe r ent disc is loaded,
the data sto r ed on the USB memo r y device cannot be
p layed).
• If a USB memo r y device containing othe r data
( pr eviously r eco r ded) is used, the video and audio
may not p lay back pr o p e r ly.
• If the USB memo r y device is disconnected f r om this
p laye r du r ing p layback, p layback of the disc will sto p .
Do not disconnect the USB memo r y device while
p layback is in pr og r ess.
• Some time may be r equi r ed fo r the data to load ( r ead/
w r ite).
Caution
• It may not be p ossible to use the BONUSVIEW and
BD-LIVE functions if the r e is insufficient s p ace on the
USB memo r y device. In this case, r efe r to Erasing data
that has been added to BDs and application data on
p age 45 fo r e r asing the Vi r tual Package data and the
BD-LIVE data in the USB memo r y device.

• O p e r ation of USB memo r y devices is not gua r anteed.
• Playback of BD-LIVE function data diffe r s de p ending
on the disc used. Fo r details, consult the use r
inst r uctions su pp lied with the disc.
• To enjoy the BD-LIVE function, a netwo r k connection
and settings a r e r equi r ed ( p ages 22 and 44).
• BD-LIVE is a function that pr ovides fo r automatic
connection to the Inte r net. Discs su pp o r ting the BD-
LIVE function may send ID codes identifying this
p laye r and the disc to the contents pr ovide r via the
Inte r net.
• When USB memo r y devices a r e connected to both
the USB p o r ts on the p laye r ’s f r ont and r ea r p anels,
the device that was connected fi r st is used fo r the
BONUSVIEW and BD-LIVE functions, while the device
that was connected last is used fo
r file p layback and
softwa r e u p dating.
