PILOT PA-1110 Single Side Headset Manual
2.0 Fitting Your Headset
Wearing your headset properly is paramount to achieving both comfort and noise attenuation.
The headset should be placed on your head and slowly pulled down so that each ear cup is
properly positioned over each ear for maximum noise attenuation.
It should apply slight pressure on your head without being snug. You may need to make your
final adjustments in the high noise environment of the cockpit.
2.1 Microphone Placement
Your headset comes with a fully flexible ³memory´ microphone boom and a noise canceling
electret microphone. The boom can be rotated 360 degrees for left or right side use. Proper
placement of the electret microphone is critical in order to achieve clear communications. The
microphone should be placed at the corner of the mouth approximately 1/4´ away from the lips.
2 . 2 Adjusting Volume Control
The PA-1110 is fitted with an individual volume control, located on the boom side of the headset.
When adjusting the volume control the pilot-in-command should adjust their volume control first
with the audio system turned on. Please remember that you may be dealing with 4 volume
controls - radio, intercom, music input source and headset.
2.3 Liquid Foam Ear Seals
Your ear seals are a combination of liquid (mineral oil) and foam in order to provide you with
more noise attenuation than standard foam ear seals. The combination is perfect for added
noise reduction while being lighter in weight than a full liquid. We think you¶ll find these ear seals
to be quite comfortable on long trips.
2.4 Air-Foam Head Pad
A multi-cushioned head pad is fitted on the PA-1110. Just because you¶re missing one ear cup
doesn¶t mean you have to suffer in comfort. The multi-cushioned pad distributes the weight of
the headset
to keep you free of notorious ³hot spots´.
2. 5 Hand Adjustable Knurled Knobs.
Adjustable knurled knobs allow you to hand tighten your headband should it become loose
during flight. This sounds like a simple design item but we were the first to introduce this style of
adjustment eliminating the need for a small wrench. Sometimes the simple ideas are the best.
