3.2.2 Battery Operation

How to Start up the Instrument in Battery Mode
(1)
Ensure that the instrument is switched off.
(2)
Turn the
intensity control <6>
to zero.
(3)
Switch on the power with mains switch on the
mains module <1>
. A symbol lights up on the dis-
play of the
timer <5>
. The instrument is in stand-by mode.
(4)
Switch on the instrument by pressing the
massage key <2>
. All displays light up; an automatic self-
test routine is performed by the instrument.
3.3 Function Check
A function check is always necessary when you are unsure about whether the instrument is working prop-
erly.
How to Check the Function of the Instrument
(1)
Ensure that the instrument is switched off.
(2)
Switch on the power with mains switch on the
mains module <1>
. A symbol lights up on the dis-
play of the
timer <5>
. The instrument is in stand-by mode.
(3)
Switch on the instrument by pressing the
massage key <2>
. All displays light up; an automatic self-
test routine is performed by the instrument.
The instrument will automatically carry out a self-test routine during which all functions and output

If the instrument is properly working, the default values are displayed. You can operate the in-
strument without any further precaution.

If an error code is displayed, there is an instrument error. Proceed as described under
on page 12 .
3.4 Cable Check
If you have the impression that a cable is defective during treatment, you can check it using the instru-
ment.
How to Check a Cable
(1)
Switch on the power with mains switch on the

Switch on the instrument by pressing the
massage key <2>
. All displays light up; an automatic self-
test routine is performed by the instrument.

Set the
mode selector <4>
to the middle position.
(4)
Set the
frequency selector <3>
to 50 Hz.
(5)
Set the
intensity control <6>
to the maximum intensity.
(6)
Short-circuit the spiral cable to be tested by plugging one end into the left and the other end into the
right
connector socket <9>
.
