Cleaning the Label Edge Sensor
The label edge sensor may become contaminated by paper dust. This may impair
recognition of label edges.

Cleaning the label edge sensor
•
Turn lever (1) counter clockwise to lift the printhead.
•
Remove labels and ink ribbon from the printer.
•
Remove the hexagonal wrench (5) from its holder.
•
Press the black latch (4) and slowly pull the red label edge sensor out by the handle
(3).
Make sure that this does not subject the edge sensor cable to tension
.
•
Clean the entire label edge sensor, including the sensors themselves (2) with a special
cleaning pen (THERMOMARK-CP, Order No. 5145371). As an alternative, you could
use a brush or a cotton swab dipped in pure alcohol.
•
Use the handle (3) to push the label edge sensor back and adjust it (see "Adjusting the
label edge sensor" on page 2-8).
•
Push the hexagonal wrench (4) back into its holder.
•
Reload the labels and ink ribbon (see "Loading Media and Printing" on page 2-5).
Damage to the label edge sensor
Do not use sharp or hard objects or solvents to clean the label edge sensor.
