Print head adjustment
The print
head adjustment
is
used
to
adjust
your printer
for
various
grades
of
paper.
You
will
find
the
adjustment
lever
(9) under
the
printer cover, on the left-hand
side.
The
lever
should
be set
to
position
8
when inserting paper. When you are using
very
thin
paper,
set
the
lever
to
position
1.
Use position
8
when you are using
very
thick
paper.
When making an adjustment, make
sure
that the foot
of
the lever
(15) is
correctly
set
in
the appropriate hole
(16).
Paper loading
(pin
feed)
a. Remove
the
printer
cover
(3)
by
lifting
it
uowards
from
behind.
b.
Open the
pin
feed tractor
covers
(17).
c.
Tilt
the
paper
shelf
(2)
to upright position. Directly
under
the
hinged
side
of
the
paper
shelf
you
will
see
a
narrow slot
over
the
full
width
(18). That is
where the
paper
has
to be inserted.
d. Pull
the
paper
feed knob out
to
disengage
the
friction
mechanism.
e. Use both
hands
to
insert the
paper
gently
until
it
appears
between the print
head
and the platen.
f.
Carefully
place
the top end
of
the
paper
over
the
pin
feed tractors and
ensure
that
the perforations on
either
side
fit
correctly
over
the
tractor
pins.
If
the width
of
the
paper does
not match that
of
the printer, move
the
pin
tractors
to
the
right
width.
g.
When the
paper
fits
correctly over the pins,
close
the tractor
covers
again and
finally
close
the printer cover.
Paper loading
(friction
feed)
a.
Make
sure
the
paper
feed
knob is
pushed
in
to activate the
friction
mechanism.
b. Use both
hands
to insert the
paper
into
the printer and
push
it
gently
as
far
as
it
will
go.
c.
Turn
the
paper
feed
knob clockwise
until
the
edge
of
the
paper appears between
the platen and the
head.
