Connecting the unit directly to a TV
With this connection method, the video and audio are output from the TV.

For 4K, 4K HDR or Dolby Vision playback, please your TV supports 4K, 4K HDR or Dolby Vision input.

The HDMI port on the TV accepts 4K, 4K HDR or Dolby Vision signal. You have set the correct setting in the TV
menu for the TV to accept and display 4K, 4K HDR or Dolby Vision signals.

Use an 18 Gbps high-speed HDMI cable which supports 4K, 4K HDR or Dolby Vision when you connect to TV.

If you have questions regarding the capabilities and settings of your TV, please contact their manufacturer.

When using the optical out jack on this unit, the sound outputs from your TV's speaker and the AV receiver
simultaneously. If you want to mute the sound of your TV, set "HDMI audio" to "Off" on this unit. For more
information, refer to “LIST OF SETTINGS” on page 45.

With this connection, the
HDMI OUT
jack only outputs video, and the
HDMI OUT (AUDIO)
jack only outputs audio.

The EasyLink function is only available for the
HDMI OUT
jack.
•
In order for Ultra HD Blu-ray™ content playback to work on this unit, a 4K/HDR compatible display device and
AV receiver/amplifier must be connected to this unit. Otherwise, the audio will not be output.

In order for 3D content playback to work on this unit, a 3D compatible display device and AV receiver/amplifier
must be connected to this unit. Otherwise, the audio will not be output

If you have questions regarding the capabilities and settings of your TV or AV receiver, please contact their
manufacturer(s).

When “Voice Guide” is set to on:
- The “Voice Guide” setting will be turned off when the “HDMI audio” or “Digital audio” setting is set to
“Bitstream” or “Re-encode”.
- Turning off the “HDMI audio” or “Digital audio” setting will not affect the “Voice Guide” setting.
