HDTV
HDTV delivers exceptional picture quality and real
movie-viewing experience that makes television more
dynamic, truer than anything you've seen before. It is
the latest and best television signal available. It features
picture quality more than twice that of traditional
analog broadcasts. In order to effectively maximize the
HDTV signal, a television must incorporate advanced
signal input connectivity and circuitry design. To use
HDTV the TV must be connected via its Component
Video, DVI or HDMI inputs to a DTV set-top box and
set to operate in the DTV mode.
Progressive Scan
Progressive Scan doubles the vertical resolution of the
image resulting in a noticeably sharper picture. Instead
of sending a field comprising the odd lines to the screen
first, followed by the field with the even lines, both fields
are written at one time. A full image is created
instantaneously, using the maximum resolution. At such
a speed, your eye perceives a sharper picture with no
line structure.
Active C Light Sensor
Active Control is a unique and intelligent way of
optimizing picture quality by measuring and analyzing
the incoming signal to automatically adjust picture
quality settings. Active Control with Light Sensor uses a
sensor to adjust the picture brightness depending on the
room light conditions.
Scavem
Scan velocity modulation varies the speed of the
electron beam for a more finely rendered picture with
improved sharpness and contrast.
Dolby Digital
Because Dolby Digital and DTS, the world's leading
digital multi-channel audio standards, make use of the
way the human ear naturally processes sound, you
experience superb quality surround sound audio with
realistic spatial cues.
1 Tuner Picture in Picture
With 1 tuner Picture-in-Picture, you can view video from
an external source in a small window on your screen.
Electronic Program Guide (TV)
The Electronic Program Guide (EPG) will provide you
with an overview, listing the program information
HDMI input
HDMI makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection
from the source to the screen. By eliminating conversion
to an analog signal, it delivers an unblemished image.
The non-degraded signal reduces flicker and leads to a
clearer picture. HDMI intelligently communicates the
highest output resolution with the source device. The
HDMI input is fully backward compatible with DVI
sources but includes digital audio. HDMI uses HDCP
copy protection.
Component Video Input (YPbPr)
Component Video is the highest quality interconnection
standard for analog video. It is sharper than S-video and
composite video. Philips DVD recorders can record
directly from component video (such as YPbPr) sources
including satellite receivers
