Update the TV software
Philips TV continuously tries to improve its products and we recommend that you update the TV software when
updates are available.
Step 1: What you need
To update with a USB storage device, you need:
a.
An empty USB flash drive. The USB flash drive must be FAT32-formatted. Do not use a USB hard drive.
b.
An archive utility installed on your PC that supports the ZIP file format (for example, WinZip® for Microsoft®
Windows® or Stuffit® for Macintosh®).
Step 1: Check the current software version
1. Press
“HOME”
button.
2. Select
[Settings]
>
[Other Settings]
, then press
“OK”
.
3. The current software information is displayed besides
[Software upgrade]
.
4. Write down the software version number.
5. To exit, press BACK.
Step 2: Download the latest software
Caution: Do not install a lower version of software than the current version installed on your product. Philips cannot
held liable or be made responsible for problems caused by a software downgrade.
1. Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port on your PC.
2. Go to our website:
http://www.support.philips.com/
3. Find your product and locate the software and drivers available for your TV set. The software is available
as a zip file. If the software version is higher than the version on your TV, click the software download link.
Accept the license agreement and save the ZIP file.
4. If the software is provided by Philips Customer Care team, download the zip file from the link provide.
5. Unzip the archive and copy the file
upgrade_loader.pkg
in the root of the USB file. The .pkg file cannot be
placed in any folder or archives.
