3.1 Function
The diaphragm pump is a dry compressing vacuum pump with 4 pumping stages. This vacuum pump is
a positive displacement pump with a periodic change in suction chamber size, produced by the move-
ment of the diaphragm. The gas flow causes the valves to open and close automatically. The pump
units are directly connected to the drive motor.

3.1.1 Actuator
The drive motor is a single-phase extended voltage range motor with
● switchable voltage range from 100 to 120 V or 200 to 230 V (±10%), 50/60 Hz
● thermal protection switch
● Mains cable with plug
In the event of excess temperature (> 95 °C), the thermic protection switch interrupts the motor current,
but does not facilitate a permanent shut-down of the motor. Once the motor has cooled down, the vac-
uum pump restarts automatically.
3.1.2 Pumping system
The diaphragm pump has 2 diaphragm heads and 4 pumping stages.
3.1.3 Cooling
The diaphragm pump is convection-cooled. The drive motor has not got its own fan.
