Danger to life from electric shock in case of contact with the frequency converter
High voltages are present at the terminals and inside the frequency converter after disconnecting the
power supply. There is a risk of electric shock if touched.
► Before working on the frequency converter, disconnect the mains cable from the mains power
supply.
► Wait at least 10 minutes after switching off the frequency converter before you start work.
► Provide adequate grounding for the device.
► Prior to installation, check that the connection leads and terminals are voltage-free.
► After connection work, carry out an earthed conductor check.
WARNING
Risk of fatal injury due to electric shock on account of incorrect installation
The device's power supply uses life-threatening voltages. Unsafe or improper installation can lead to
life-threatening situations from electric shocks obtained from working with or on the unit.
► Ensure safe integration into an emergency off safety circuit.
► Do not carry out your own conversions or modifications on the unit.
CAUTION
Risk of unintentional start-up
Depending on the configured parameter settings, the motor may start up in an uncontrolled manner
when the power supply is switched on. There is a risk of injury to fingers and hands (e.g. hematoma),
in case of direct contact with the vacuum flange.
► Make sure that the motor starting up does not cause a hazardous situation.
► Maintain sufficient distance to the vacuum flange during all work.
NOTICE
Risk of damage from excess voltage
Incorrect or excessive mains voltage will destroy the motor.
► Always observe the motor rating plate specifications.
► Route the mains connection in accordance with locally applicable provisions.
► Always provide a suitable mains fuse to protect the motor and supply cable in the event of a fault.
– Pfeiffer Vacuum recommends the circuit breaker type "K" with slow tripping characteristic.
NOTICE
Destruction of the screw pump as a result of impermissible rotation speed
Exceeding or falling short of the permissible rotation speed range can lead to damage to the screw
pump.
► Ensure that the nominal rotation speed of the screw pump is above 1200 rpm (20 Hz) at all
times.

Establishing mains connection
1. Make sure that the mains voltage of the motor matches the data on the motor's rating plate.
2. Make sure that the mains voltage of the frequency converter matches the data on the frequency
converter's rating plate.
3. Always ensure a secure connection to the earthed conductor (PE).
4. Make sure that electrical or electromagnetic pulses from the power supply do not impair the motor.
5. Electrically connect the motor to the frequency converter.
6. Connect the frequency converter to the power supply.
