Fit the collar
The remote trainer should be fitted so that the contact area presses firmly against the
dog’s skin. When properly fitted, you should be able to fit a finger or two snugly in bet-
ween the collar and the dog’s skin. When properly fitted, the remote trainer should not
move on the dog. The best location for the remote is either side of the dog’s windpipe.
A loose fit can allow the remote trainer to move around on the dog’s windpipe. When this
happens, the contact area may rub the skin and cause irritation. If the remote trainer is
too tight, the dog may have difficulty breathing.
