5. Operating Instructions
IMPORTANT
: Hammer drilling requires a low pressure from your side. Too much pressure will place unnecessary
load on the motor. Check the drill bits regularly.
a. Side handle attachment
For safety reasons it is imperative to use the handle. You will be able to obtain a safe body position when rotating the
handle attachment. Slide the holder of the side handle (1) over the chuck (3) on the machine. Turn the side handle in
the desired position and fasten it by turning the handle clockwise.
b. Depth Stop
Loosen the side handle and place the depth stop (2) in the hole in the holder of the side handle. Adjust the depth
stop to the desired drilling depth and fasten the side handle.
c. Fitting and removing a drill bit
CAUTION:
Unplug the device first. The drill must have come to a complete stop before replacing it.
•
Open the chuck (3).
•
Insert the drill or screw bit into the chuck.
•
Fasten the chuck firmly.
•
Proceed in reverse order to remove the bit.
d. Changing rotation direction
•
Press the forward/reverse switch (7) to the left to fasten screws or to drill.
•
Press the forward/reverse switch to the right to loosen screws.
e. Enabling hammer function
Select the desired operating mode before use (drilling or hammer drilling).
•
For drilling wood, metal, plastics and soft stone and for tightening screws, slide the hammer drill selection switch
(8) to the left (no hammer drilling).
•
For drilling concrete or hard stone, slide the switch to the right (hammer drilling enabled).
f. Adjusting the speed
The device is equipped with a wheel for speed adjustment.
•
Turn the speed adjustment wheel (6) to increase or decrease the speed.
g. Gear selection (fig. A)
The device has 2 gear positions. Position 1 combines low speed with high torque. Position 2 combines high speed
with low torque. Set the gear selector (9) to the desired position.
h. Switching the device ON/OFF
•
To switch the device on, press the ON/OFF switch (5). The harder you press, the faster the machine will rotate.
•
To switch it off, release the ON/OFF switch.
•
For a continuous use, keep the ON/OFF switch pressed while pressing the lock button (4). Release the ON/OFF
switch. To switch the continuous mode off, press the ON/OFF switch shortly.
