MAINTENANCE
1.
The stringing machine is adjusted and calibrated properly before shipping.
It is designed to work snugly and be relatively maintenance-free.
2.
Always keep the stringing machine in a clean and safe place.
Keep it away from dust, grease, moisture and any source of heat.
3.
Clean the stringing machine often enough to prevent dust or dirt from accumulating in
or on it. Clean the dust from the outside of the stringing machine by cleaning the
surface with a soft cloth or brush. The brush will remove dust from around the
tension indicator.
4.
Hardened dirt or grease may be removed with a cotton-tipped applicator dampened
with a solution of mild detergent and water.
5.
Do not allow water to get inside the tension head.
6.
Do not clean any plastic materials with organic cleaning solvents (such as benzene,
toluene, acetone, or similar compounds); they may damage the plastic.
7.
Do not use liquid cleaners, abrasive cleaners or aerosol cleaners.
8.
Use the isopropyl alcohol and the soft & clean cloth to clean the posts of the string
clamps, the tracks of the turntable, and the string gripper.
9.
Use a cotton-tipped applicator dampened with isopropyl alcohol to clean the inside of
the clamp holder’s tube.
10.
Use fine emery cloth to remove the wax buildup from the jaws of the string clamps
and the string gripper. Use a cotton-tipped applicator dampened with isopropyl
alcohol to clean the debris away.
11.
Do not use the sandpaper to remove the wax buildup from string clamps and the
string gripper.
12.
Use a light machine oil, such as sewing machine oil to lubricate the posts of the
string clamp and the tracks of the turntable after cleaning.
13.
Do not lubricate the brake.
14.
Do not use penetrating oils to clean or to lubricate.
15.
Check the string clamps often to ensure that they hold the string properly.
16.
Reset the tension setting to 9 pounds after stringing.
