What can I put in my
For all modes you can put in food waste. A diverse mixture of food waste will allow Lomi
to perform and give the best results. See below for what can and can not be put in Lomi.
Fruit and vegetable scraps
Food leftovers, plate scrapings
Meat scraps
Soft bones (fish)
Soft shells (eggs, shrimp)
Coffee filters, grounds, and tea bags
Soft peels
Rinds (watermelon, melon)
Nuts
Starches (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes,
cereals, oats and other grains)
Dairy products (cheese, yogurt)
Houseplants, plants and flowers
Yard trimmings
Hard bones (chicken, beef, pork, lamb)
Cooking oils, grease, liquids
Fruit pits (avocados, peaches, apricots,
nectarines, mango)
Soaps, shampoo and conditioner bars
Lined bags (chip, cookie, pet food)
Soiled diapers, baby wipes
Cigarettes
Metal, plastic, glass
Foil wrap
Diapers, wipes, hygiene products

Note: Make sure to cut up rigid stems/fibrous vegetables (e.g. flower stems, broccoli stems,
kale stems, etc.) so that they don’t get stuck during grinding. If the bucket/Lomi appears to be
damaged from the addition of any of the items listed in the don’t column, warranty is void.
