3. Rotate the device until the lower DIN rail lip snaps into the lower DIN rail clip slot (see callout 2 on
figure 7 ).
The device has been installed on the DIN rail; proceed to section “Connecting the CopperLink Line Inter-
faces” .
Connecting the CopperLink Line Interfaces
To function properly, the CL1300MDE must be connected using a twisted-pair, unconditioned, dry, metal
wire, between 19 (0.9mm) and 26 AWG (0.4mm). Leased circuits that run through signal equalization equip-
ment are not acceptable.
The Ethernet Extender is equipped with RJ-45 interface ports C1 and C2 (see figure 8 on page 24) that con-
form to the T568B standard. As such, any standard Category 5e cable can be used to directly connect two
extenders.
The CL1314MDE has a two-wire interface, and the CL1324MDE has a four-wire interface (see figure 9 on
page 24).
