REPLACING THE BATTERY
For best results the battery should be replaced every 12 months.
1) Take off the battery compartment cover
2) Remove the old battery. Make sure the new battery is a high quality AA
sized rechargeable battery.
3) Install the new battery in to the battery compartment, ensuring the correct
polarity is observed.
4) Reassemble the unit by reversing the above procedure.
Caution:
Rechargeable batteries contain Nickel-Cadmium or Nickel-Metal
Hydride and must be recycled or disposed of properly. Do not mix old and
new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable
batteries.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1) Make sure that the SOLAR POST CAP is not being affected by any other
light source.
2) Ensure the SOLAR POST CAP does not stand in the shade during the
day.
3) Make sure the switch is in the ON position.
4) Check that the batteries are installed correctly.
MAINTENANCE
Clean the solar module regularly with a damp towel to guarantee optimum
performance of the solar panel. Do not use any type of solvent for cleaning
and be careful not to put too much pressure on the module while cleaning.
