12 VOLT AC/DC POWER SUPPLY

Introduction

The PASCO scientific Model SF-9582 12 Volt AC/DC
Power Supply provides AC and DC power in 1 volt incre-
ments, from 1 to 12 volts, at up to 6 amps.  Since the AC
and DC power are delivered on separate output connec-
tors, they can be utilized simultaneously.  Both outputs
are unregulated, and protected from current overload by a
thermal circuit breaker.  The DC output is full-wave recti-
fied, but unfiltered.

To Use the Power Supply:

Plug the power cord into a well-grounded 107-128

VAC, 60 Hz or 198-242 VAC, 50 Hz outlet. (See la-
bel on rear of unit).

Connect the appropriate output lines of the power sup-

ply to the circuit.  (Connecting wires are not pro-
vided.)

Set the VOLTAGE ADJUST knob to 1 volt.

Flip the ON/OFF switch on the power supply to ON.

The switch will light to show that the power supply is on.

Set the VOLTAGE ADJUST knob to the desired volt-

age setting (AC values are in RMS units).

NOTE:  Both AC and DC output circuits are

protected with a thermally activated circuit breaker.
If at any time the power supply fails to come on, or if
it shuts down during operation because of a current
overload, press the RESET button on the front panel.
This will reset the circuit breaker.  Of course, you
may have to reduce the voltage or increase the resis-
tance of the load in order to resume operation.

CAUTION:
TO PREVENT THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK,  DO
NOT REMOVE COVER ON UNIT. NO USER SERVICE-
ABLE PARTS INSIDE. REFER SERVICING TO QUALI-
FIED SERVICE PERSONNEL.

The lightning flash with arrowhead, within
an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert
the user of the presence of uninsulated
“dangerous voltage” within the product’s
enclosure that may be of sufficient magni-
tude to constitute a risk of electric shock to
persons.

The exclamation point within an equi-
lateral triangle is intended to alert the
user of the presence of important oper-
ating and maintenance (servicing) in-
structions in the literature accompany-
ing the appliance.
