Operating instructions:
1. Connect power supplies to the MLDD 3.0 and the laser receiver. Both devices require the same voltage
(12V DC) so it is not important which adapter is connected to the MLDD and which to the laser receiver.
2. To transmit an audio signal connect the microphone to the input connector LF on the MLDD (2) and
connect the loudspeaker to the audio output connector on the laser receiver-RED CINCH (Figure1)
3. To transmit a video signal connect some source of video signal (video, CCD camera) to the input
connector HF on the MLDD (5) and connect the monitor or TV to the video output connector on the laser
receiver -YELLOW CINCH (Figure 2)
4. Turn on power on the MLDD 3.0 unit
5. Position the transmitter holder with the laser diode opposite the laser receiver so that the laser beam is
directed into the ground screen on the laser receiver. If necessary, the laser beam’s direction can be
adjusted horizontally and vertically by turning the two screws on the transmit holder. (Figure 1 and Figure
2).
6. Adjust the optical power of the laser to the desired level sing knob (6) on the MLDD. Maximum optical
power is recommended for use at the beginning of the experiment.
7. Adjust volume to the desired level by turning the knob on the laser receiver.
8. If you are transmitting a video you may have to improve the picture quality by fine adjusting position of
laser beam on the screen on reciever.
9. High frequency noise on power line may affect quality of transmited video signal.
