Boost or No Boost?
Here is a comparison of the frequency responses of the subwoofer amplifier with
boost and without. The boost at approximately 30 Hz can be clearly seen. Even
though this is considered a nominal 6 dB boost, the actual SPL difference at 30
Hz is 4.65 dB. Again, both amplifiers will produce the same output at 20 Hz, with
the differing filter Q's affecting the slope below this.
