The PARI SMARTMASK
®
Kids is always to be treated as a
component or accessory of PARI nebulisers, of which the
instructions for use must also be followed accordingly. In
particular, the instructions in the chapter entitled "Hygienic
re-processing" in these instructions for use also apply for the
PARI SMARTMASK
®
Kids.

Intended use
The PARI SMARTMASK
®
Kids is an efficient mask inhalation system for
children aged 2 and older who are unable or unwilling to inhale using a
mouthpiece.
Caution:
To avoid the risk of insufficient oxygen supply, this mask must not
be used by children younger than 2 years old.
If the PARI SMARTMASK
®
Kids is too small, please use the SMARTMASK
®
for adults.
After the age of 4, the most effective form of treatment for the lower respira
-
tory tract is inhalation with the mouthpiece, because this ensures that the
greatest quantity of medication reaches the lungs.
The PARI SMARTMASK
®
Kids has been designed for repeated use.
Its life cycle is 1 year.
The PARI SMARTMASK
®
Kids must not be used except with the follow
-
ing PARI nebulisers: LC PLUS
®
family, LC STAR
®
LL, LC
®
SPRINT family,
eFlow
®
rapid and a nebuliser based on eFlow
®
technology.
Use of the mask
–
The PARI SMARTMASK
®
Kids must not be used on children
when they are sleeping and/or lying down.
–
Make sure that the mask fits snugly in order to minimise aero
-
sol losses.
–
Clean and disinfect the mask before it is used for the first time.

Place the mask on the nebuliser.

To ensure efficient treatment, hold the nebuliser vertically and the
eFlow
®
rapid nebuliser horizontally.

Make sure that the valves on the mask lie flush against the openings so that
the outside surface is smooth! They must not be pressed inwards under any
circumstances!
