Tone Generator
Features
•
Red and black test leads are provided, and also a standard RJ11 modular
plug
•
A 3-position toggle switch controls the modes of operation plus a 3-colored
LED Light Emitting Diode is provided for line polarity, continuity and
voltage testing.
•
A tone selector switch, located inside the test set is provided for choosing
either a single solid tone or dual alternating tone.
Operation
A) WIRE IDENTIFYING
1. SENDING TONE
•
Switch Tone Generator to “TONE”
•
Select A dual alternating tone or a single solid tone by slide switch
inside the tone generator.
•
Connecting the tone generator to line pair
OFTEN USE METHOD (GROUNDED) :
Connect red test lead to a wire and connect black test lead to
ground or large metal part for example rack/ cabinet. (See figure 3)
This method provide strongest tone and often use.
