BASIC CONTROLS
Front Panel
Power On/Off switch
STR (Normalisation store)
Used to store tuning and other function settings

(Function select)
Displays the On Screen Display functions, use repeatedly to
select from the available functions --- Volume, Contrast,
Brightness, Colour, Sharpness, Tint (in NTSC mode), Bass,
Treble, Balance, NICAM stereo and Mode.
Increases or decreases the programme position by
one. When a function is already displayed, press to
increase or decrease the selected function

Headphones socket (see page 20).
Red light is a standby mode indicator.
Use Standby switch,

switch TV On.

Remote Control Unit
Standby On/Off switch
Adjusts currently selected function. If no
function has been selected, adjusts the
volume.
Function select. Press to select On
Screen Menus (see page 8).
Recalls the settings stored with the STR
button (on the TV front panel).
Numeric keys to:
--- change programmes;
--- directly select channels;
--- teletext page.
Direct channel access: press then select
the channel on the numeric buttons.
If you want to select a channel on
HYPERBAND (cable TV), press the direct
channel access key, then programme
up/down keys (“C” and “---/--- ---”) to select
channel number.
TV/AV mode selection (see pages 14 and 16).
Also used to save and confirm On Screen Display
options.
Sound mute On/Off
Status button to display:
--- programme position;
--- channel number;
--- time;
--- sound (stereo/mono/M1/M2)
--- teletext station name.
Channel number up and down, menu option
selection, Teletext page selection.
Two---digit (10 to 99) programme number
selection.
Teletext keys (see page 19).
VCR keys (see page 17).
Off timer; switches off TV at the time you set from
0 to 90 minutes with 15---minute intervals.
