Wireless LAN

[Reference Manual], and refer to “Chapter 5: Wireless LAN”.
About Turning on/off the Wireless LAN

Before using a wireless LAN, turn it on using the following method (at the time of
purchase, the wireless LAN is set to [On]).

Turn on/off the wireless LAN using Intel(R) PROSet client.

Double-click the
icon / the
icon (when the wireless
LAN is on) or the
icon (when the wireless LAN is off) on
the notification area.

Select your wireless LAN adaptor and click [General].

Click [On] or [Off] for [Switch radio].

Click [OK].
• Do not click [Disable]
in [Network Connections].

This is displayed by right-clicking [Wireless Network Connection] in [Network Connections].
Do not use the wireless LAN in airplanes, hospitals, or
in other locations where wireless LAN signals may
affect the operation of devices in the vicinity.
Abide by instructions regarding use in airplanes and hospitals.
This computer uses channels 1 through 11
Check the channel being used by the access point.

In the case of wireless communications, the frequency band being used can be divided into
segments, so that different communications can be conducted on each band segment. A
"Channel" refers to the individual frequency bandwidth divisions.
