FMA-101 OVERVIEW
PURPOSE AND DEFINITION
The Panasonic Free-To-Guest (FTG) Basic platform delivers FTG channels to the guest rooms
with minimal headend equipment installed. The FTG Basic platform uses an FTG Management
Appliance (FMA-101) to configure and deliver the channel lineup to the guest room terminals
via the hotel’s coaxial distribution network.
This document provides the steps to install, configure, and troubleshoot the FMA-101 used in
the FTG Basic platform.
PROCEDURE REQUIREMENTS
Installation and configuration of the FMA-101 requires the following hardware, tools, and
software.

Minimum termcode requirements:

HC11 – 2.58 or higher

HC12 – 6.02 or higher
Laptop or tablet with Ethernet port
Ethernet crossover cable (for laptop or tablet
access)
Ethernet straight-through cable (for
hotel network access)
Coaxial jumper cables
Sencore SLM 1456 meter or
equivalent
Low Pass Filter (6ELP-50 or 6MLP-50)
TIPS AND WARNINGS
FMA-101 Configuration
The FMA-101 configuration must be performed on site. Remote connectivity for
configuration or troubleshooting is not available.
The FMA-101 should be installed in the FTG rack prior to configuration.
If the configuring laptop is running Windows Vista or Windows 7, resetting the power on the
FMA-101 while the laptop is connected may cause a network conflict issue. To correct a
network conflict, disable and then enable the network interface on the laptop and refresh
the browser page.
To access the FMA-101 web page, open a browser and type http://fma101 in the address
bar.
The FMA-101 can be configured as a DHCP client or assigned a default IP address.
