IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read these operating instructions carefully before using the unit. Follow the safety instructions on the unit and the applicable safety instructions listed below. Keep these

operating instructions handy for future reference.

1)  Read these instructions.
2)  Keep these instructions.
3)  Heed all warnings.
4)  Follow all instructions.
5)  Do not use this apparatus near water.
6)  Clean only with dry cloth.
7)    Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s

instructions.

8)   Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other

apparatus (including ampli

fi

 ers) that produce heat.

9)   Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug

has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and
a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If
the provided plug does not

fi

t into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the

obsolete outlet.

10)  Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience

receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.

Listening caution

Selecting

fi

ne audio equipment such as the unit you’ve just purchased is only the start of your

musical enjoyment. Now it’s time to consider how you can maximize the fun and excitement
your equipment offers. This manufacturer and the Electronic Industries Association’s
Consumer Electronics Group want you to get the most out of your equipment by playing it at
a safe level. One that lets the sound come through loud and clear without annoying blaring or
distortion–and, most importantly, without affecting your sensitive hearing.
We recommend that you avoid prolonged exposure to excessive noise.
Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing “comfort level” adapts to higher volumes of
sound. So what sounds “normal” can actually be loud and harmful to your hearing.
Guard against this by setting your equipment at a safe level BEFORE your hearing adapts.
To establish a safe level:
• Start your volume control at a low setting.
•  Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfortably and clearly, and without

distortion.

Once you have established a comfortable sound level:
• Set the dial and leave it there.
Taking a minute to do this now will help to prevent hearing damage or loss in the future. After
all, we want you listening for a lifetime.

11) Only use attachments/accessories speci

fi

 ed by the manufacturer.

12)  Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table speci

fi

 ed by the

manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use
caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid
injury from tip-over.

13)  Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for

long periods of time.

14)  Refer all servicing to quali

fi

ed service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus

has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has
been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to
rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
