9.2 Cautions to Be Taken During Replacement of
Optical Pickup and Spindle Motor Assembly
Before replacing the optical pickup and spindle motor assembly, check a usage time respectively.
Follow the checking method described below.

Checking CD laser usage time
With the unit stopped, press the "PLAY" button
on the DVD player, the "FORWARD" button
on VTR and the number "5" button on the
remote controller unit at the same time.

yyyy = total time is displayed
with a four-digit number by the
ten hours.
Checking DVD laser usage time
With the unit stopped, press the "PLAY" button
on the DVD player, the "FORWARD" button
on VTR and the number "5" button on the
remote controller unit at the same time.

xxxx = total time is displayed
with a four-digit number by the
ten hours.
Checking SP motor usage time
With the unit stopped, press the "PLAY" button
on the DVD player, the "FORWARD" button
on VTR and the number "6" button on the
remote controller unit at the same time.

xxxx = total time is displayed
with a four-digit number by the
ten hours.
Resetting each usage time of DVD and CD
lasers (simultaneous resetting) (Apply this
operation before laser usage time checking
mode is cancelled.)
While the unit stopped, press the "STOP" button
on the DVD player, the "FORWARD" button
on VTR and the number "5" button on the
remote controller unit at the same time.
