Use an audio cable to connect your VCR to a stereo amplifier.

Left = white (L)      Right = red (R)
Connect VCR, television set and the Amplifier to the AC mains 
supply.

If you have a scart adapter cable you can also connect the 

VCR’s  AV socket to an amplifier.
