Note for handset and base unit:
R A 3.5 second pause is inserted each time you
press
MDN (Pause) on the handset or M PAUSE N
on the base unit.
Answering calls
Using the handset

Lift the handset and then press M N or MZN
when the unit rings.

When you finish talking, press M OFF N or place
the handset on the charger.
Any key answer: You can answer the call by
pressing any dial key (except 0 key).
Auto talk: You can answer calls simply by lifting
the handset (page 38).
Temporary handset ringer off: You can turn the
ringer off temporarily by pressing M N (left soft
key).
Using the base unit
When a call is being received, the SP-PHONE
indicator flashes rapidly.

Lift the corded handset or press MZN when the
unit rings.

When you finish talking, place the corded
handset on the cradle. When the
speakerphone is used, press
MZN .
Temporary ringer off: You can turn the ringer off
temporarily by pressing M N .
Adjusting the ringer volume
Handset
Press MDN or MCN repeatedly to select the desired
volume while ringing.
R To turn the ringer off, press MCN repeatedly.
Base unit
Press MDN or MCN repeatedly to select the desired
volume while ringing.
R To turn the ringer off, press and hold MCN until
the unit beeps.
Note:
R To change the ringer volume and ringer tone for
an outside call, see page 36.
One-touch ringer off for the handset
Press and hold 0 ( ) until the unit beeps to turn
the ringer off. While the ringer is turned off, the
handset will not ring for calls.
R You can turn the ringer on again by pressing
and holding
0 ( ) until the unit beeps.

disconnected.
