“DISABLE” Button
When the push button " DISABLE " is pressed whilst there is an active alarm in the FDCIE,
all outputs configured for the device(s) or zone(s) in alarm, will be disabled (must be
preceded by “SILENCE ALARM”) . This is indicated by the “General disablement” LED.
The “ DISABLE ” push button is provided within the fire brigade section on the front display
to enable the fire brigade personnel to disable (isolate) an active alarm such as a zone of
addressable sensors, conventional zone or individual addressable device.
A single operation of the “
DISABLE ” button whilst there is an active alarm and the
“SILENCE ALARM” button is pressed first, will initiate the following:
• Disablement of all zones in alarm and/or addressable devices in alarm.
•
Illuminate the “General Disablement” LED.
•
Disablement of all the outputs configured for zone(s) or device(s) in alarm.
As a result of an alarm, the activated output indicators will not clear automatically after
disablement. A subsequent reset operation is required to restore the FDCIE to the normal
condition.
Note:
The “Disable” button will not function unless the “SILENCE ALARM” button has been
activated first as required by AS4428.3

Following an alarm in FT1020G3, the disable function sequence operates as follow:
1. Press “ SILENCE BUZZER” to stop the panel buzzer.
2. Press “SILENCE ALARM” button to stop sounding the warning devices.
3. Press “RESET” button to reset active alarms.
4. If the alarm activates again, press “SILENCE BUZZER” then press “SILENCE
ALARM” button.
5. Press “DISABLE” , the alarm point, zone or MCP in alarm will be disabled and the
“General Disablements” LED turns ON. Panel will revert to normal condition
