Download Software (System Firmware)
The latest software version of EBL512G3 system software
is factory downloaded before
delivery. Due to continual development and improvement, different S/W versions may be
found.
The valid S/W version for the main board and the MMI board respectively, can be read in
menu H4/U8 (Information) or via EBLWin.
FT1020G3 can be upgraded with a new S/W version, downloaded on site via EBLWin as
well as the remote display units.

Download Software to Single FDCIE
Note
: Before downloading a new software in
existing system
, SSD backup (upload) must
be performed using compatible EBLWin (or WinG3) software then saved in the new version
of EBLWin you intend to use. Downloading new system software will delete the existing
SSD in the control unit.
A standard single FDCIE should not have a TLON connection board 5090 mounted. When
a FDCIE has a TLON connection boards 5090 mounted, it is expected to be a control unit
in a TLON network and TLON network programming is required.
To download a new software (system firmware) version, a PC and
EBLWin
and EBL
Firmware Manager are used. The .BIN file required to be downloaded contains software
for the main board 5012, MMI board 5015 and a text file, i.e. there is one BIN file for each
convention (AU or NZ).
Note
: Brooks recommends using the USB isolator device when you connect your PC to
the Control Unit using main board 5010.
The latest EBL Firmware Manager software V1.2.3 should have been installed as shown
in section 19.2.5 page 97.
The following procedures to be performed to download the system software to the FDCIE
utilising EBL Firmware version 1.2.3, valid for main board 5012 (or 5010):
1. Plug in the
USB key
(5094) into a spare USB port on your PC.
2. Connect the PC to the USB connector in the FDCIE and Start EBLWin,
do not
logon to FT1020G3
.
3. In the
Tools
menu, select “
Download Software…”
to open
EBL Firmware
Manager
dialog box and set as required.
Note
: Make sure that the EBL Firmware Manager program is installed on your computer.
4. Browse your PC to the path and the software file name for the required firmware
version, e.g.
Australian_EBL512G3_2104.BIN
(2104= version 2.10.4).

The software (firmware) is the system software and always uses “EBL” abbreviation.
