If settings related to images (e.g., resolution) in the setting screen of a WV series network cameras
and some BL series network cameras are changed during recording, communications with the software
will be blocked and the recording image will be temporarily interrupted.
2.5.3 Motion Detection Recording
Motion detection recording starts when the [Threshold] value is exceeded. Set the [Threshold] value for each
camera. (
®
Motion detection recording can only be set up for cameras that connect in JPEG format. If the MPEG-4/H.264
format is selected, change the format to JPEG. (

•
The motion detection level you have set may not be sufficient for motion detection recording depending
on the resolution, image quality, the recording subject, and network environment.
To ensure proper operation, test the motion detection recording on the motion detection monitoring
window (

•
Motion detection commands can be selected and executed. (
®
•
Recording can be performed for a specified number of seconds before or after motion is detected.
(
®
•
When motion is detected just after the start time or just before the end time specified in the timer
recording settings, the recording time may be shortened. Recording may also be shortened when
motion is detected just after motion detection is started or just before motion detection is stopped
manually.
Example: You have set images to be recorded 5 seconds before and after motion detection. If 1 second
before motion detection, motion detection recording starts, and then finishes 2 seconds after motion
detection, images from the first 4 seconds before motion detection and the last 3 seconds after motion
detection are not recorded.
