4.3 Operational readiness
Power supply As soon as the device is connected to a suitable power supply, it is ready for
operation.
There are three ways to supply power to the device:
• With an included power supply unit
• With a 12-volt direct current source suppled by the operator
Connection via the socket for the power supply unit.
Suitable plug: 2-pole barrel connector,
outer Ø: 5.5 mm / inner Ø: 2.1 mm
• With PoE (Power over Ethernet)
As soon as the power supply is started, the firmware opens and the device
begins to measure.
4.4 Function test and settings for AQ Guard
Ambient
Function test
When the device is switched on for the first time, it can be checked for
proper functioning like this.
• Open the Web interface on the device;
refer to section " Access to measured data via Web interface [ } 54] .”
• Establish a Remote Desktop connection to the device;
refer to section “ Access to firmware via Remote Desktop [ } 52] .”
Settings
The default setting of the hotspot feature is activated. Do not switch off this
feature until you have written down the unique address assigned to the
device when it was linked to a network. Refer to the section “ Unique IP
address of device [ } 56] .”
If neither the unique IP address is available nor the hotspot feature switched
on, it is not possible to access the device’s user interface with a mobile
device or PC.
In this case, remove the weatherproof housing in a protected environment;
refer to section " Operating AQ Guard Ambient without weatherproof
housing [ } 50] .”
