ATTACHMENT 1: ENERGY LABEL
What is the energy label?
“Energy Labels” are labels that characterise the frame* and sun
screening system energy saving performances. An efficient system
allows to contain heating expenditures in the winter and cooling
expenditures in the summer.
*Reference frame, with good energy saving performances
(Transmittance U-value= 1.2 W/m2K).
How is structured the energy label?
•
The energy label is made up of 7 performance classes, from
A, that has the highest performance, up to G, with the lowest
performance.
•
The Energy Label considers the definition of two energy indi
-
cators (EP=Energy Performance), one for summer (C=Cooling)
and one for winter (H=Heating)
1.
In winter, the screening system contribution for energy
improvement (heat conservation inside the building) is
unimportant.
2.
In summer instead, the screening system contribution for
energy improvement (reduction of external heat entry) is
significant.
• The installation of a screening system is therefore particularly
recommended to obtain a significant energy saving in summer.
•
The reference frame on which energy labels were defined is a
high performance product.
•
Therefore, the improvement obtained in summer is nearly
completely to be attributed to the benefit caused by the fabric.
