VALVE ASSEMBLY

Open the carton that contains the valve assembly and inspect all
components for damage.  Do Not install if damaged.  Remove
packaging tape from right side door on unit and swing side panel
open.

1) Install the optional flexible gas line connector onto valve.

1) Remove air shutter from hardware packet and place the end of the
rod through the 3/16" hole next to the orifice on the pilot side of the
panel.

2) With the control panel facing forward and the pilot on the left hand
side proceed to install the valve assembly. (see Fig. # 2)  The air
shutter slider must be slipped over the venturi tube and the orifice
must fit into the end of the venturi tube.  When installed properly, the
valve assembly will sit flat against side of firebox.

3) Fasten in place with the #8 x 1/2" sheet metal screws provided.
Two screws at the top and three at the bottom of the valve assembly.

Fig. # 2

Caution: Before making wiring connections, ensure all power is
disconnected!

4) The gas connection may now be made.  See "GAS SUPPLY"
section for details.

5) Place the self-adhesive label into the blank box provided on the
rating label to designate the type of gas the appliance is connected
to.  The rating plate is located on the left side of the unit under the side
panel.

After operation of the unit is checked and the air shutter is adjusted,
(see "FLAME ADJUSTMENT" section) the side panel may be closed.
When closing the side panel,

1) Line up the slots in control panel with screws in front edge of the
side panel.  Adjust the side panel so that the control door closes
properly and the panel is even with the top panel.

2) Adjust the door latch so that it will hold the control door shut and
give a positive feel.
