Storage and transport
Avoid risk of fire by letting the equipment cool down before transport and/or storage.
The water pump must be transported with the fuel valve closed and in horizontal
position to avoid spilling fuel,
If the water pump has to be stored for a prolonged period of time without being used,
do the following:
1.
Make sure the storage place is clean and dry.
2.
Remove the pump drain plug, and flush the
pump with clean, fresh water. Allow the water
to drain from the pump chamber, then reinstall
the drain plug.
3.
Drain all petrol from the tank.
4.
Change the motor oil and
a)
Remove the sparkplug
b)
Pour a tablespoon (5-10 cc) of clean
engine oil into the cylinder.
c)
Pull the starter grip several times to
distribute the oil in the cylinder.
d)
Reinstall the spark plug.
5.
Pull the recoil starter grip slowly until resistance is felt and the notch on the starter
pulley aligns with the hole at the top of the recoil starter cover. This will close the
valves so moisture cannot enter the engine cylinder. Return the recoil starter grip
gently.
6.
Cover the water pump to protect from dust.
