Solution
The hydraulic oil’s viscosity is
too thick or the oil type is
incorrect.
Check and refill with the
correct oil.
The load in the bucket is too
heavy – the weight exceeds
the backhoe arm’s capacity.
Reduce the load.
Faulty relief valve or set to
the wrong specification.
Check and adjust.
Hydraulic hoses, line pipe or
snap couplings are blocked.
Inspect for signs of blockage
in the flow. Repair or replace
defective components.
The backhoe arm falls with
the lever in the centre
position (no visible oil
outside).
Note that a gradual fall over
a longer period of time is
normal.
Leakage in the cylinder
piston.
Check for leaks.
Interior leakage in the
control valve.
Replace the control valve
and check.
The hydraulic lever will not
fall back to the centre
position.
The lever is stuck.
Locate the fault and repair.
The lever's centring spring is
broken.
Replace.
The lever’s centring spring is
stuck.
Remove the spring, inspect
and repair.
Exterior leak of hydraulic
fluid
Loose connection in the
hydraulic system.
Tighten the loose
connections.
Defective hydraulic hose,
pipe, adapter fitting or
adapter fitting O-ring.
Find the cause of the leak
and replace the defective
component.
Defective O-ring in the lever. Replace O-ring.
The hydraulic lever is
damaged or worn.
Replace.
Leakage in the cylinder
piston gasket set.
Check the cylinder for
leakage. Repair as required.
The hydraulic pump’s
capacity is insufficient
Cold hydraulic fluid.
Allow the fluid to warm up to
the operating temperature
The engine operates with an
rpm that is too low
Increase the rpm.
The supply of hydraulic fluid
is too low.
See the tractor manual.
Blockage of hydraulic hoses. Check and connect them
correctly.
