2. PREPARATION

WARNING! 

ENSURE THE MACHINE IS SWITCHED 

OFF AND THE BATTERIES ARE REMOVED BEFORE 
PERFORMING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING TASKS.

Securing the Power Cord to the Handle

1.  Secure the power cord from the 

switch housing to the scarifier 

using the three cable clips.

Note:

 Ensure that the power 

cord follows the handle smoothly 

from the switch to the body of the 

scarifier.

Adjusting the Scarifier Working Depth

The scarifier depth is adjusted with the depth adjustment lever.

1.  Hold the depth adjustment lever 

firmly as you pull inwards away from 

the scarifier front wheel.

2.  Adjust the lever to the required 

position, ensure that the lever is 

seated in place correctly.

Working height positions

+3 

Transport po3mm

-3 

Scarifier depth -3mm (shallowest)

-6 

Scarifier depth -6mm

-9

  Scarifier depth -9mm (deepest)

Inserting/Removing the Batteries and Safety 

Key

Only use two 18V battery packs of equal 

capacity and charge state. For best 

performance use 2.5Ah batteries and above.

1.  Open the battery cover and slide two 

batteries of the same capacity and same 

charge state into the scarifier, aligning the 

ribs so that it clicks into place.

2.  Insert the safety key. (If the scarifier is not 

going to be used immediately, do not insert the safety key).

3. Carefully close the battery cover.

4.  To remove a battery, open the battery 

cover. Press and hold the battery release 

tab as you remove the battery.

5. Carefully close the battery cover.

WARNING! 

ALWAYS ENSURE THE KEY AND BATTERIES 

ARE REMOVED WHEN NOT IN USE.

Fitting & Removing Grass Catcher (accessory)

This unit does not include a grass catcher. This is available separately.

1.  Lift up the catcher flap on the rear of the scarifier with one hand and hook 

grass catcher onto the housing from above.

2.  Lower the catcher flap. The catcher flap is held against the catcher by a 

spring.

3.  To empty the catcher, lift the catcher flap with one hand, while unhooking the 

catcher with the other.

WARNING! 

ONLY FIT AND REMOVE THE GRASS 

CATCHER WHEN THE SCARIFIER IS SWITCHED OFF AND 
THE MOTOR HAS COME TO A STOP.

WARNING! 

WHEN FITTING THE GRASS CATCHER AFTER 

EMPTYING, ALWAYS ENSURE THERE IS NO BUILD UP 
OF GRASS IN THE GRASS CHUTE.

Assembling the Grass Catcher (accessory)

This unit does not include a grass catcher. This is available separately.
1.  Push both frame parts into each 

other.

2.  Pull the catcher over the catcher 

frame.

3.  Pull the rubber clips over the catcher 

frame.

Handle Height Positions

1.  Release the quick-release levers on 

both sides of the scarifier housing.

2.  Set the handle height to best suit 

the user during operation, either 

position 

1 or 2 MUST BE 

SELECTED. 

3.  Secure the quick-release lever to hold 

the handle in the selected position. 

Make sure that both sides are set to the same position.
