USER INTERFACE
Original Instructions
Excitation Magnitude
Tap once to display a numeric keypad.
If
Sensor Type
is set to
PTC
, enter an excitation current in
μ
A.
If
Sensor Type
is set to
Diode
, enter an excitation current in
μ
A.
If
Sensor Type
is set to
NTC
, enter an excitation voltage in mV.
If
Sensor Type
is set to
Thermocouple
, this value is ignored.
Cal Adj button
This button is only active if the
Calibration
field is set to
Generic
. Tap once to access
the Generic Sensor Adjustment page (see
). This allows the user to
adjust the scale and offset of a generic calibration curve to suit a particular sensor.
Calibrate button
Tap once to calibrate this measurement circuit. This routine takes approximately one
minute. An error message is generated if the calibration fails for any reason.
3.2.6.2
Generic Sensor Adjustment page
This page allows the user to adjust the calibration curve of a generic sensor. See
for a detailed explanation of this process.
Figure 3-15 Generic Sensor Adjustment page
The page contains the following fields and controls:
Measured Parameter
Displays the measured sensor value (i.e. resistance or voltage).
Scaled Parameter
Displays the measured parameter value after the selected
Scale
and
Offset
have
been applied. If
Scale
= 1 and
Offset
= 0,
Measured Parameter
and
Scaled
Parameter
are identical.
Scale
Adjust to change the slope of the calibration curve.
Offset
Adjust to change the offset of the calibration curve.
Save
Tap to save the new
Scale
and
Offset
values.
