Inserting The Cantilever Holder On A Standard
Scanner
Note:
If you own the environmental scanner, please follow the tutorial in
tilever holder on an environmental scanner on page 157
You need the following items to perform the tutorial:
Cantilever
holder
The cantilever holder with required cantilever installed for your experiment.

Tools
Part# 290.102: Tweezers with curved tips.
Part# 290.139: 1/16” ball head wrench.
1. Rotate the Engage Control knob clockwise until it reaches its upper limit of travel.
If you do not raise the stage, you will crash the cantilever into the sample and ruin the can-
tilever, sample, and possible the cantilever holder.
2. If you have not already done so, ensure that the scanner is already pulled forward and any exist-
ing cantilever holder is removed.
