Verify the Upgrade

Once you have logged on to the REO 9100c appliance, the 
System Summary screen appears. Verify that the 

System 

Model

 is REO9100c and the 

Product Version and 

Flash Version

 are 5.0.2.65 (

Figure 13

).

Initialize the Volume

1.

Click 

RAID Setup

 in the left pane 

navigation bar

.

2.

Select either 

RAID 5

 or 

RAID 5 with Hot Spare

, and 

click 

Submit

NOTE: The Volume Initialization process may take some time 
to complete.

Recreate the Configuration (If Desired)

Using the notes you made earlier, 

recreate the REO 

9100 configuration

 once the volume initializes and the 

appliance reboots.

E-Mail Support Request File to Overland

NOTE: Your warranty may be voided if this step is not 
completed. Previous REO configuration information and data 
are invalid for this update of the REO firmware.

1.

Click 

Maintenance

 in the navigation bar. 

2.

In the Support Request File section, click 

Save

 to save 

the tgz file.

IMPORTANT:  If you are using Windows Server 2003 
or Windows XP, be aware that the file extension 

might be changed to 

tar

, which prevents the file from 

opening correctly. Manually change the extension to the 
original 

tgz

 extension.

3.

E-mail the 

tgz file

 to 

[email protected]

. In 

the subject line, type 

REO9100c Field Upgrade Ticket

.

Return Removed Parts to Overland

1.

Place the removed REO 9100 

Flash drive

 in the 

anti-static bag in the replacement parts box. 

2.

Return the 

parts

 to Overland Storage.
