IMPORTANT: To maintain proper airflow and cooling,
either a drive assembly or a blank drive carrier must be
installed in every slot.
Attach the Bezel
1.
Insert the
left tabs
into the holes.
2.
Push the
right side
in until it latches (clicks).
Attaching Cables
All cabling and power connections are located on the rear panel of your REO 4600 appliance (
). Connections are
available for Ethernet, USB, and serial cabling. All unit cooling exhaust is handled through the rear panel.

Plug the
network connection
into Data Port 1.
Using a Category 5e (or better) cable, connect Data
Port 1 directly to a network PC or laptop to configure
the management port LAN.
2.
If a direct data connection is needed, plug the network
cable into
Data Port 2
.
3.
Attach any other data cables to the appropriate ports
(
).
4.
Attach the power cords to the
AC Power
sockets on
back panel.
5.
Plug the
power cords
into an UPS appliance or AC
power source.
Powering Up the REO 4600
To turn the appliance
ON
, press and hold the Power
) for no more than one (1) second.

After you turn the power ON, the System performs a self-
test process, which takes a about five (5) minutes.
IMPORTANT: Leave the appliance ON while completing
your application and backup media servers
configuration.
At this point, your REO 4600 is ready to be configured for
your specific environment and needs.
Launching the REO 4600 GUI
1.
From your web browser on the network PC or laptop,
enter the default
IP address
of 10.0.0.1 to access the
REO 4600.
2.
Use the following default
login
(case-sensitive):
User Name:
Administrator
Password:
system
3.
Continue with the
configuration
process.
