5.1 Functionality
The product is worn similar to a backpack. The passive exoskeleton relieves strain on the arms
and shoulder girdle during overhead/above shoulder level work.
5.2 Information on re-use
The product is suitable for re-use. Products that are being re-used are subject to increased strain.
Features and functions must not change in a manner that could endanger the safety of the user or
third parties due to re-use.
The product must be thoroughly cleaned before it can be re-used. The product must then be
inspected with respect to its condition, wear and tear, and damage by authorised, qualified per
sonnel. All worn and damaged components must be replaced.
Detailed information on replacing components as well as information on the required tools and
the prescribed maintenance intervals is found in the "Maintenance" section (see Page 39). Con
tact the manufacturer in case of doubt.

The design, manufacturing and requirements for the intended use of the product are based on the
expected service life. This encompasses using the product according to its intended use and
complying with the maintenance specifications.
5.4 Restrictions for use
The product may
not
be used by persons:
•
With cardiac pacemakers or comparable active implants
•
With pre-existing conditions of the musculoskeletal system in the area of the shoulders, arms,
back and hands
•
With skin diseases/injuries, inflammation or prominent scars with swelling
•
With reddening and overheating in the affected areas of the body (arms, shoulders, hips and
back)
•
With severe varicosis, in particular with return flow disorders or lymphatic flow disorders,
including unclear soft tissue swelling distant from the body area to which the product is
applied
•
With sensory and circulatory disorders in the area of the upper limbs, hips and back (e.g. in
case of diabetic neuropathy).
5.5 Residual risks
The product
may not be used in an unsuitable workplace or working environment
.
Before using the product, a qualified expert has to check whether there are risks associ
ated with the workplace and/or working environment that could constitute a danger for
the user.
The following dangers exist:
•
Danger of accidentally getting caught on stationary and moveable objects
•
Danger of hampering evacuation (e.g. in case of fire alarm)
•
Influence of the product on the functionality of personal protective equipment
6 Improper use
The product is not intended for the following prohibited uses:
•
Use on more than one user, in particular:
=> Transfer to third parties without cleaning the product
=> Transfer to third parties without inspecting and reconditioning the product
=> Use by third parties without product training and instruction by qualified personnel
=> Use by third parties without user-specific product adjustment by qualified personnel
