How do I put on the Agilium Freestep 3.0?
3
First take the insole (if removable or present) out of your shoe. Now
position the Agilium Freestep 3.0 in the shoe. Then put the insole back
into the shoe, on top of the orthosis sole plate. Now you can slide your
foot into the shoe. Your O&P professional has adjusted the orthosis so
the orthosis joint is at ankle height after putting on the shoe. Bring the
upper section of the orthosis up along your lower leg and pass the calf
shell around your calf. Make sure that the orthosis fits securely and
comfortably. The strap should not be too tight and must not cause
constriction. Fasten the quick-release closure on the strap. It should
engage with an audible click.
What shoes should be worn with the Agilium Freestep 3.0?
The Agilium Freestep 3.0 always has to be worn in a shoe. Wearing
closed loafers or low trainers is recommended to ensure the best
possible functioning of the Agilium Freestep 3.0. The Agilium Freestep
3.0 cannot be worn in combination with sandals, boots, ballet flats or
stilettos.
Are you also looking for a solution that works with any footwear, or for
walking barefoot? Your O&P professional will be happy to advise you
regarding suitable products that match your activities and indications.
How should I care for and clean the Agilium Freestep 3.0?
The orthosis should be wiped clean using water and/or a mild cleaning
agent if it gets dirty. You can remove the strap and the pads that are
attached to the joint and in the calf shell with hook-and-loop closures.
These components can be hand washed at max. 30° Celsius with a
standard mild detergent. Please do not use fabric softener. Allow the
strap and pads to air dry.
What spare parts are available?
The strap, pads and the required screws can be reordered. Just speak to
your O&P professional.
Can I use the Agilium Freestep 3.0 during sports?
Yes, sports activities are possible and in fact recommended.
Notice: Our experts have compiled special exercises for osteoarthritis of
the knee for you on YouTube under “Agilium Move Program”.
The Agilium Freestep can be used for sports such as walking, jogging or
playing tennis without any problems. You should, however, avoid extreme
strain. Sports that require special shoes, such as alpine skiing, are not
possible with the Agilium Freestep 3.0. We recommend using our
“Agilium Select” orthosis finder at www.ottobock.com to find a suitable
alternative orthosis for your sports activities.
When should I contact my specialist orthopaedic dealer?
Check the orthosis regularly for any damage or wear and tear. Also have
your orthosis inspected promptly if it feels different or gets uncomfortable
to wear. Just speak to your O&P professional.
