1 Description
1.1 Intended Use
The 7772 Malleo Arexa Ankle Orthosis is to be used
exclusively
for orthotic
fitting of the lower limb.
1.2 Indications and Effects
The Malleo Arexa ankle orthosis is used for functional treatment of ligament
instabilities, post-operatively after ligament ruptures, after ankle distortions,
as well as for functional-conservative therapy of lateral collateral ligament
ruptures. Indication must be determined by the physician.
The orthosis stabilizes the ankle. Eversion and inversion of the foot joint are
restricted without negatively affecting plantar and dorsal flexion of the foot.
1.3 Contraindications
1.3.1 Absolute Contraindications
None.
1.3.2 Relative Contraindications
Skin diseases / injuries, inflammatory symptoms, prominent scars on body
parts to which the orthosis is to be applied that are swollen, reddened and
feel excessively warm; lymphatic flow disorders, including unclear soft tis-
sue swelling distant to the body area to which the orthosis is to be applied;
sensory and circulatory disorders.
