3 Assembly
Assembly to wheelchair systems:
Mount the fixing eyelet to the wheelchair frame: See fig. 1 for the correct
configuration of screw, nut, and washer. Wherever possible, existing holes
should be used for mounting the seat belts. If required, make new bore hole
but only at components that are strong enough to bear the tensile forces,
like for example frame bars or rigid seats and back rests. The bore holes
should have a diameter of 6 mm.
Assembly to MOSS Systems
(fig. 2):
Mount the fixing eyelet to the wheelchair frame: See fig. 1 for the correct
configuration of screw, nut, and washer. The seat belt can be mounted
either on the side or the back of the seat frame. Remove the socket head
cap screws and bring the nuts in the desired position. Attach the seat belt
with the fixing eyelet and the socket head cap screws.
Adjustment:
Unbuckle the seat belt by pressing the button on the centre of the buckle
and seat the patient in the wheelchair.
The belt tightness is adjusted by sliding the strap through the male buckle
(fig. 1, item 8) half until the correct adjustment is reached, in the same way
as the centre seat belts on an autombile are adjusted. The belt should be
tight enough to provide adequate support without causing discomfort. The
angle between seat belt and seat frame should be approximately 45°.
4 Instructions for Use
Attention!
Be careful with open flames as well as with the use of f.e. cigars
or cigarettes.
Falling embers can make supports, rests, plates, shells, pads,
covers or cushions begin to smoulder and thus cause fire.
