DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE
USING YOUR ELECTRIC KETTLE
NOTE:
• Hot water can cause serious burns. Be careful when the kettle contains hot water.
• Never fill the kettle beyond the maximum level indication “MAX”. If the kettle has
been overfilled, boiling water may be ejected from the spout and cause scalding.
1. Position the power base on a flat, heat resistant surface, as close as possible to a
power outlet.
2. Follow cord routing in power base according to exit patterns. Proper cord routing will
result in the power base lying flat when kettle is placed in base. DO not operate kettle
if power base is not flat. Remove kettle from power base and repeat cord placement
instructions.
3. Open the lid and fill the kettle with water. Then push the lid closed firmly until it locks
into position.
NOTE: Do not fill the water beyond the maximum water level mark “MAX”. Too little
water will result in the kettle switching off before the water has boiled. Always fill the
kettle between the minimum “MIN” and maximum “MAX” marks.
4. Put the plug in the wall socket. Turn the switch ON by pressing downwards the
On/Off switch to the “I” position. The switch and the water level window will illuminate.
The electric kettle will switch off automatically when the water reaches boiling point.
NOTE: Ensure the ON/OFF switch is away from obstructions and the lid is firmly
closed. The electric kettle will not turn off automatically if the ON/OFF switch is
constrained, or the lid keeps open.
5. You may switch your kettle off manually at any time by lifting the ON/OFF switch
upwards to “O” position.
6. Carefully lift the kettle from the power base and pour the hot water.
7. Should you accidentally allow the kettle to operate without water, boil-dry protection
will automatically switch it off. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool for 15-20 seconds
before filling with cold water and re-boiling.
CARE AND CLEANING OF YOUR ELECTRIC KETTLE
The scale from tap water may build-up on the inside of the bottle over time. Descale your
kettle regularly by the following steps:
1. Fill the kettle with solution of 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 cup of water.
2. Leave the solution inside the kettle overnight.
3. Empty the vinegar solution from the electric kettle. Remove any stain remaining inside
by rubbing with a damp cloth.
4. Fill the electric kettle with clean water. Place kettle in power base and bring to a boil,
then discard water. Repeat and the electric kettle will be ready to use.
5. The electric kettle will not operate again until the on/off switch is switched “on” again.
6. Always remove kettle from power base and disconnect power base from electrical
outlet before cleaning. Do not immerse kettle or power base in water or other liquid.
7. Clean the outside of the kettle with a soft cloth moistened with warm water and some
mild cleaning agent.
NOTE: Never use any chemical, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners to clean any part of
the kettle, including the power base.
8. Grasp the top of the mesh filter and pull upwards to remove. Wash in warm soapy
water and dry thoroughly before replacing in the kettle.
9. Excess cord can be stored by winding the cord around the storage facility underneath
the power base.
