2. Remove the cover
(Fig. 3)
and attach the device to the prosthetic foot.
Device placement depends on the foot size and category. To achieve
optimum device placement, the bumper must rest on the middle Pro-
Flex Pivot blade
(Fig. 6A)
or on the upper Pro-Flex Pivot blade
(Fig. 6B)
.
3. Apply Loctite 243 and tighten the bolt to 5 Nm
(Fig. 4)
.
4. Tube Connection
i. Connect the tube between the inlet port and the Unity valve on the
close fitted socket.
ii. Cut off any excess tube, if necessary.
iii. Secure the tube to the prosthesis medially using the tube clamp to
avoid damage during ambulation.
CAUTION:
Ensure that Unity tubing is not compressed
(Fig. 7)
or
folded by the application of cosmetic finishing
(Fig. 9)
.
WARNING:
A loose or dangling tube can create a tripping hazard. Secure
the tube to the prosthesis in a permanent manner.
MAINTENANCE
The following components of the Unity System might need cleaning or
replacing during the lifetime of the product.
• Duckbill valves
• Outlet Port
• Tube
NOTE:
It is recommended to have the product inspected every 6 months
by a healthcare professional.
NOTE:
The duckbill valves must be oriented correctly as instructed in
(Fig. 8)
for correct function. Apply Loctite 243 and torque the outlet port
and inlet port to 4 Nm.
Disassembling
Remove the tube, outlet port and inlet port to access the duckbill valves.
Reassembly
Assemble the parts in reverse order.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
In case the Unity system is not functioning properly check the following:
