TCP for Machine with Double Twist or Prismatic Head
Allows the programming of a machine with 4/5 axes (3 linear and 1 or 2 as part of the
rotary head) referred to the tool tip (positions referred to the part) instead of the centre
of the head (positions referred to machine zero). The position controlled by the system
depends on the position of the rotary axes, on the geometric characteristics of the head
and on the characteristics of the tool.
The double twist head geometry and the prismatic one (differing from the first by the
fact that the vertical rotary axis rotates in a plane that is not perpendicular to the
horizontal axis rotary plane) are both managed.
TCP for non-standard kinematics
This feature allows a machine with 5/6 axes (3 linear and 2/3 rotary) to be programmed
regardless of the orientation of the head and the tool type (spherical or toroidal).
The programmed position is related to the tool tip with tool orientation information
(ijk, mno, pqd) while the position controlled by the system coincides with the point of
insertion of the tool in the spindle.
TCP with tool direction axis and relevant rotated plane
For all TCP application modes described
above, up to 3 additional “virtual” axes
can be defined to be the “tool direction”
axis and a rotated plane referred to the
tool tip. The virtual axes can be selected
and moved normally in manual mode (from
Operator Panel, Portable Console etc.)
or programmed. This feature is of great
help during the teaching phase or to move
safely along the tool direction after an
emergency.
TCP with tool direction axis
Selection by program of active kinematics
By using this feature it is possible to make all heads of a multi-head machine working on
the same Cartesian coordinate system and therefore on the same part.
